Job Summary




The growth and evolution of the nuclear power industry places new challenges on the team of professionals who operate Dominion Energy?s Nuclear Power Stations. To support our leaders and teams in obtaining and nurturing the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed for maximum success, the Organizational Effectiveness & Development department is expanding its team.




The Nuclear Organizational Effectiveness Consultant (OR Consultant) will support the Director-Nuclear Organizational Effectiveness & Development to implement the fleet organizational effectiveness strategy at the VC Summer Power Station. The OR Consultant will play an active role in identifying best practices, discovering opportunities for improvement, building tools & resources, conducting operational analysis, and providing oversight to these efforts.




More specifically, the OR Consultant?s responsibilities include:





  • Support oversight and expert consultation to drive continuous improvement and industry excellence at their respective stations and across the fleet


  • Monitoring and evaluating leaders, site and fleet performance through observations and team interactions and leveraging indicators, input from corporate and site leadership, assessments, MSRC, INPO, NRC and other external sources


  • Identifies gaps in leadership and teamwork effectiveness and provides feedback, insights, and recommendations to bridge those gaps


  • Provides periodic updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) including OR themes, trends, strengths, and challenges


  • Providing input to fleet leadership development training, including experiential learning opportunities and providing insights from observations, leadership assessments and surveys, and partners with the station to implement Leadership Development Continuing Training


  • Serving as a strategic resource to VC Summer?s Site Vice President (VP) and Plant Manager (PM) and providing coaching to the entire SLT with respect to Leadership and Team Effectiveness attributes and Staying on Top values


  • Guiding the development of their assigned station?s OR strategy and providing oversight of the site?s excellence plans


  • Advising leaders on strategies to ensure healthy, productive teams


  • Collaborating with Human Resources and the VP/PM on leadership development and team building opportunities for the SLT


  • Collaborating with other site OR professionals to ensure consistency and effectiveness of the SLT and mid-level manager teams, as well as identify any potential fleet-wide trends to assess


  • Participating in fleet and industry activities to learn and apply industry?s best practices in the areas of organizational effectiveness and fleet learning.




Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience




The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:





  • Seven (7) or more years of directly related experience in organizational effectiveness, to include knowledge of leadership development theory and processes, team effectiveness models, and experience with tools used to assess and improve team dynamics


  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness, leadership, and teamwork attributes and best practices


  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze, interpret and apply diversified and complex information to improve performance


  • Demonstrated ability to direct, manage, plan, and organize work in a cost-effective manner


  • Demonstrated success in key leadership competencies


  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize/manage workflow in an environment where all work is critiqued


  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to drive organizational improvements and influence as necessary to gain fleet consistency


  • Ability to establish and nurture trust and rapport with all levels in the organization


  • Experience working with key leaders to resolve issues


  • Proven effectiveness in building strong relationships with leaders and individual contributors at all levels


  • Ability to support leaders in aligning their people with the right workflows, role design and organizational structure to achieve maximum efficiency and performance outcomes


  • Effective verbal and written communications skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities


  • Leadership courage to engage and influence peers and senior leaders, observe, coach, and provide critical feedback to senior leaders and all levels of the organization


  • Personal commitment to the overall success of the SLT.


  • Capability to influence without positional authority


  • Driven to improve organizational performance and excellence.




Strongly preferred Candidates will also possess:





  • Nuclear power industry experience in multiple functional areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and/or Human Resources


  • At least four (4) years? experience in a supervisory or management position. INPO experience is also desired.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:




Bachelors
