We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary




Supervises procurement engineering team which encompasses mechanical, electrical, chemical, & civil engineers and engineering technicians, quality assurance inspectors and auditors, and testing personnel at nuclear power generation sites and corporate locations. Maintains competency in theories and application of systems, electrical, mechanical, thermal-fluid, structural, instrumentation and control engineering. Supports ASME NQA-1 program for Level III Inspector for vendor surveillance and materials verification. In depth knowledge of Chapter 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 71 and 72, ANSI, IEE, MSS, and ASME standards.




Monitors engineering and quality assurance metrics supporting nuclear operations through equipment reliability, design control, and configuration management in areas such as commercial grade dedication, item equivalency evaluations, sub-component quality classification evaluations, bill of materials, procurement technical and inspection evaluations, obsolescence solutions, reverse engineering. Business and procurement knowledge in areas of supply chain management. Assesses risks and program boundaries related to maintenance, planning, engineering, and quality policies and procedures. Provides guidance for warehousing and material control establishing requirements for temperature humidity controls, packaging, shipping, storage, shelf-life, foreign material exclusion, cyber and nuclear controls, and in-storage maintenance. Oversight of engineering product development, quality assurance inspections, surveillances at vendor facilities, and receipt inspection testing of procured products to ensure compliance with technical specifications, procedures, and policies. Competency with equipment qualifications for N-Stamp, VR-Stamp, ISI Inspection, Seismic, Flow Calculations, EQ for radioactive environments.




Sets accountability goals for team and monitors department metrics, ensures compliance with procedures and policies, oversees test machine operation and safety protocols. Applies data analytic strategies on big data for forecast modeling and error prevention monitoring, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. Cross-department relationships. Represent the department and maintain professional relationships with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).




Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience




7+ years of relevant experience to include 3 years of leadership experience.



  • Ability to maintain NRC Unescorted Access and Passport for International travel with no restrictions.


  • Full knowledge of concepts and applications of power production, quality and oversight principles, business practices, and nuclear regulations.


  • Working knowledge of Procurement Engineering Codes and Standards of EPRI JUTG NP-6629 and NP-5652.


  • Full knowledge of Industry Engineering Codes and Standards of ASME BPVC, Section III, XI, VIII, ANSI B31.1, B31.7, B16.34, ASTMs, and IEEEs.


  • Full knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Requirements and Guidance of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B 18 Criteria, Part 21, Generic Letters, and Information Notices.


  • Full knowledge of Industry Quality Assurance Codes and Standards of NQA-1 1994 and ANSI N45 Series.


  • Full knowledge of principles of engineering, chemistry, computers, ethics and business practices, engineering economics, engineering mechanics, strength of materials, material property, fluid mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and thermodynamics.


  • Full knowledge of design engineering applications such as deformations with stress analysis, circuit and digital theory, fire protection, and plant system interactions.


  • Full knowledge of materials engineering concepts such as stress crack corrosion flow accelerated corrosion, and molecular-level understanding of chemical reactions of chemicals on stainless steel.


  • Capable of NQA1 Level II Inspection and Test Personnel qualification (e.g., vendor surveillance and materials verification) and procurement engineering qualification within two years of employment.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:




Bachelor




Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering or technical field preferred.
