The conference is organized by WMSymposia an Arizona non -profit corporation. Sponsoring organizations include the American Nuclear Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, New Mexico State University Waste-Management Education and Research Consortium (WERC) and OECD/NEA. The conference is also organized in cooperation with the US Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

East Tennessee Environmental Business Association

ETEBA is a non profit trade association representing more than 190 large and small companies who provide environmental, technology, energy, engineering, and construction services to both government and corporate clients. ETEBA acts as a collective voice on issues that impact its members and provides anonymity in resolving those issues. ETEBA also promotes opportunity to its members by 1) advocating for issues that influence business opportunities; and 2) fostering interaction between member companies and other organizations.

East Tennessee Chapter of the Health Physics Society (ETCHPS)

The ETCHPS is a scientific and professional organization whose members specialize in occupational, environmental, and medical radiation safety. Their membership includes professionals involved in commercial, industrial, university, medical, and governmental radiation safety activities throughout eastern Tennessee. They are a regional affiliate of the Health Physics Society .
