Expected salary range of $127,800 to $142,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

 

Directly responsible for the supervision, assignment, and coordination of maintenance technician activities and support contractors to ensure a productive workforce.  Interface with department manager to achieve maintenance department and station goals. Responsible for developing strategies, work plans and work practices to carry out maintenance activities. Participate in all aspects of maintenance including, but not limited to, scheduling, planning, procuring materials, budgeting, training, staffing, and daily reporting in support of safe and efficient execution of work activities.  The position is a DOT covered position (PHMSA). 

 

Primary Duties And Accountabilities

  • Responsible for overseeing, directing, and leading the work of the represented maintenance technicians.
  • Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and supervising all maintenance activities related to terminal facilities’ corrective and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring plant availability is maintained at the highest level and ensuring repairs are completed in an expeditious and safe manner.
  • Assist the maintenance department with the terminal’s predictive maintenance program; coordinate work schedules to align with code complaint preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Assist Environment Specialist with maintenance environmental activities then submitting environmental data and records as required by terminal’s environmental procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and maintain environmental stewardship. 
  • Position reports to Maintenance Manager and can act as designee in maintenance manager absence.
  • Supervise all corrective and preventative related maintenance activities ensuring high levels of productivity.
  • Respond to unscheduled events involving equipment operational issues.
  • Perform other duties and handle special projects in order to achieve or exceed levels of terminal operations, improve maintenance troubleshooting, and improve maintenance productivity.
  • Provide continuous communications by reporting of equipment diagnostics & troubleshooting efforts, and activities to support plant availability objectives.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities for represented employees within maintenance.
  • Coordinate and administer training requirements for represented employees within maintenance.
  • Requisition materials and vendor service contracts for maintenance related functions.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in reviewing department performance to determine areas for improvement.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline with 5 years power plant maintenance experience OR
  • Associate's degree in engineering or technical discipline with 7 years power plant maintenance experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 9 years power plant maintenance experience
  • Maintain minimum access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AS9 and/or ORACLE work management systems
  • Working knowledge of IMAINT/MAXIMO preventive maintenance systems
  • PC proficiency, especially with the suite of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of generators, boiler/heat exchangers, electrical motors, automated valves,
  • 5-6 years military engineering, operations, or maintenance experience
