Nine Mile Point

Nine Mile Point Clean Energy Center’s two nuclear reactors in Oswego, New York, can produce up to 1,907 megawatts (MW) of clean, emissions-free electricity. Constellation owns Unit 1 and 82 percent of Unit 2, producing enough energy to power the equivalent of more than 1.2 million homes. Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) owns the remaining 18 percent share of Unit 2. Constellation operates the plant. Nine Mile Point 1 and 2 are sited near Oswego, New York. The 900-acre site is also occupied by the Fitzpatrick nuclear plant. Nine Mile Point 1 is one of the Nation's two oldest reactors still in service.
