Construction began in 1975. The plant had a single pressurized water reactor, which produced its first electricity on 14 March 1986. It was taken out of service in 1988 and never ran again. Administrative courts rescinded its building permit in 1991 and 1995, and a federal court confirmed that outcome in 1998. Decommissioning began in 2001, the fuel was removed in 2002, and the cooling tower was demolished on 9 August 2019.
