The Pathfinder Atomic Power Plant was a nuclear power station near Sioux Falls, South Dakota, built by Northern States Power as a proof-of-concept plant, in cooperation with the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. It used a boiling water reactor with an Allis-Chalmers nuclear superheater.

The reactor first went critical in 1964 and the plant entered commercial operation in 1966. It was shut down in 1967 after the failure of steam separators, and the superheater had been plagued with technical difficulties. In 1968 the owner decided to keep the reactor permanently shut down and installed three package boilers to convert the plant to fossil fuel. The reactor was defueled and placed in SAFSTOR in 1969 and 1970, and the reactor itself was removed in 1991.
