Breaker-to-Breaker Runs
4 runs
?
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Susquehanna 2 has logged 4 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 726 days, and its runs average 705 days.

The plant has two General Electric boiling water reactors (BWR-4 with Mark II containment), and Bechtel Power Corporation was the prime builder. Construction began on November 2, 1973. Unit 1 entered commercial operation on June 8, 1983, and Unit 2 on February 12, 1985. In 1977, Allegheny Electric Cooperative bought a 10 percent share of the plant. An electrical fire at a switch box in 1982 was the plant's first emergency and caused no reported injuries.
