Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Vermont Yankee has logged 4 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 634 days, and its runs average 552 days.

Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was on the Connecticut River at Vernon, Vermont, which supplied its cooling water. It had one General Electric BWR-4 boiling water reactor with Mark I containment.

The Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation was the original owner, and the plant entered commercial operation on November 30, 1972. Entergy bought it in 2002. In February 2010 tritium was found in groundwater near the reactor, traced to steam pipes and repaired, and the Vermont Senate voted 26 to 4 against allowing the Public Service Board to consider re-certifying the plant beyond 2012. Entergy shut the reactor down on December 29, 2014. All spent fuel was in dry storage casks by August 2018, and two cooling towers were demolished in July 2019.
