Breaker-to-Breaker Runs
5 runs
?
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Oconee 2 has logged 5 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 716 days, and its runs average 706 days.

Construction began on November 6, 1967. All three units are Babcock & Wilcox pressurized water reactors. They connected to the grid on May 6, 1973, December 5, 1973 and September 18, 1974, and entered commercial operation on July 15, 1973, September 9, 1974 and December 16, 1974. In January 1996, the plant's operator informed the NRC of a flooding hazard tied to a possible failure of Jocassee Dam.
