Breaker-to-Breaker Runs
1 run
?
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Fermi 2 has logged 1 breaker-to-breaker run, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 682 days, and its runs average 682 days.

Enrico Fermi Nuclear Generating Station is a nuclear power site in Frenchtown Charter Township, Monroe County, Michigan, on the shore of Lake Erie. It has had two units: Fermi 1, a sodium-cooled fast breeder prototype, and Fermi 2, a boiling water reactor.

Fermi 1 was built starting in 1956 and first went critical on August 23, 1963. It was connected to the grid on August 5, 1966. On October 5, 1966, a partial fuel meltdown occurred. The unit restarted in July 1970, was shut down permanently on November 29, 1972, and was officially decommissioned on December 31, 1975. Fermi 2 is a General Electric BWR-4. Construction began on September 26, 1972, it was connected to the grid on September 21, 1986, and it entered commercial operation on January 23, 1988.
